Our Families Speak Out
Christian was enrolled in the Oak Hill Birth to Three Program because he had a speech delay and motor planning challenges. Christian was not speaking much and when he did, he would get frustrated with people not being able to understand what he was saying. "The difference was incredible! Christian now speaks a lot more and it is easier for people to understand what he is saying." - Karen, mother of 2-1/2 year old, Christian
"They were very supportive and understanding no matter what was going on, good or bad. Based on the input that the staff gave me, I feel more confident now and more able to think on my feel and be spontaneous when coming up with an activity to help Matthew handle a difficult situation, be it inside or outside of the home." - Rose, mother of 3-year-old, Matthew
"She's so interested in books! She will pick one up and hold on tight. She demands for someone to read it to her," says Viviane, mother of 20-month-old, Kasie. The program staff has provided Viviane guidance on how to arrange constructive ways to enhance Kasie's abilities. On her experience with the staff, Viviane has said, "I loved them from the time I met them. I feel like we made a connection. I really like the approach they take with assisting kids with disabilities." She feels that they are more creative and compassionate, yet firm. A combination which provides the structure that children need to develop and flourish.
